While many Apple TV customers think there ought to be an Instant Video app for the new TV, a representative for Amazon has confirmed that Amazon is currently working on the app and that it should be ready within the next few weeks.
Amazon in a series of tweets confirmed to Dan Boston weeks, an engineer with Madefire, that it is at the moment working on an Instant Video app for Apple’s new TV, and that the app will launch in a few weeks to this time. And Boston weeks also revealed that Amazon did confirm the action on iOS app compatible with its Apple TV.
This past October, Apple TV and Google’s Chromecast among other competing products were pulled from Amazon’s website on the excuse that they don’t support Instant Video app from Amazon – which is reputed for streaming ceaseless video on Amazon’s Prime service which is subscription-based. Amazon further revealed it took the action because the competing products would confuse its customers as to what choice to make.
To this extent, Apple has already launched a number of video streaming apps on its Apple TV, and this includes HBO Go, Showtime, YouTube, Hulu, and Netflix among others; but this did not include Amazon’s Prime Video app – but a compatible app is currently underway and will be launched soon.
According to Amazon’s response confirming the development of a compatible video streaming app for the Apple TV, the world’s largest online retailer said that in view of its success in creating an app for iPad and iPhone, the company is ready to make a separate app for the Apple TV; and customers will soon be able to see the Amazon Instant Video app feature on their TV within the next few weeks.
The Instant Video app for Amazon can be obtained on Google Play Store and on App Store for free, and it is also available on some Blu-ray players, PlayStation, Wii, Xbox, and Roku; and will soon become a normal feature of Apple TV.
