Robert Downey Jr. tags Guardians of the Galaxy as best Marvel film ever

From someone who himself has starred in various Marvel movie hits, Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. acknowledges the success of movie hit “Guardians of the Galaxy”, calling it perhaps the best movie ever despite the use of low-profile stars.

Downey who himself is expected to star in the sequel Avengers 2 Age of Ultron in May of 2015, says that “Guardians of the Galaxy” could be the best Marvel movie yet. And admitting that for someone who has an ego like his, admitting that says a lot of the success that the movie has had. Guardians of the Galaxy is breaking records over at the box office, which as of to date has grossed about $500 million.

Those figures alone have surpassed previous Marvel-themed flicks, including The Amazing Spiderman 2 and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. You have to think if that record would stick once Avengers 2 hits the big screen next year.

Currently in Toronto for the world premiere of The Judge, he Downey Jr. pays tribute to Marvel who accomplished the feat despite the use of lesser-known actors who may as well be on their way to stardom with the success of the said movie.

Guardians of the Galaxy was actually battling for the top spot in the box office, at one point surrendering it to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which ultimately slid down in the rankings, allowing the Marvel flick to become the best movie of the Summer.
