The ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ Video Game Receives Its First Play-Through

The official gameplay trailer for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre game, which is based on the 1974 film, looks fantastic.

Is it dripping with blood? That’s not the case, and that’s the point. The first film in the now-famous series was relatively bloodless, even though it was labeled as a video nasty. Its rawness is what made – and continues to make – it so frightening. The film, shot in the scorching Texas sun, found-footage feel to it, which the game appears to be emulating.

The asymmetric multiplayer game is shown in action in the trailer, which was shown at Xbox’s extended showcase. It’s the brainchild of Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham, the latter of whom worked on the pretty enjoyable Friday the 13th game. Unfortunately, due to litigation over the rights to the original film, the latter took a turn for the worst.

How Is It Different From Friday 13?

Apart from the antagonist and the lack of legal antics, the difference between Friday the 13th and this title is that it’s a three vs. four multiplayer games. It follows a group of teens who visit the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre house to locate one of their missing pals, but three members of the original cast confront them.
