Unpacking the Latest Updates in Baldur’s Gate 3 Hotfix 5: Dialogue, Romance, and PS5 Enhancements

The gaming community is buzzing with the latest Hotfix 5 for Baldur’s Gate 3, a critically acclaimed RPG by Larian Studios. Released on September 5, 2023, this hotfix brings a plethora of changes aimed at enhancing the overall gameplay experience. One of the most notable fixes is related to Minthara, a character in the game. Players were previously locked out of many dialogue options with her, but this issue has been addressed. Now, you can delve deeper into her backstory and enjoy new conversational topics.

But that’s not all. The hotfix also brings several improvements to the PS5 version of the game. Issues with audio stopping and graphical glitches on HDR TVs have been fixed. The update even tackles a crash that would occur when opening the on-screen keyboard on the PS5. Performance improvements are also part of this package, including a fix for a memory leak issue.

Multiplayer  has received its share of attention too. The hotfix improves performance when cycling through character sheet tabs in splitscreen mode. It also fixes a bug where dismissed avatars were not showing up correctly. Other general fixes include the ability to talk to NPCs or party members when the game thought you were still in dialogue, and a rare crash that would occur when faraway characters got close to the party.

Trader NPCs will now retain their approval rating of avatars and companions even after they’re dismissed. Several UI issues have been addressed, including text being cut off in tutorial popups and button prompts getting cut off on the multiplayer settings screen. The hotfix even adds nipple covers to Cazadors spawn when the nudity filter is enabled.

With Hotfix 5, Baldur’s Gate 3 continues to polish its already compelling narrative and gameplay, making it a must-play for any RPG enthusiast. Whether you’re interested in the romance options with Minthara or looking for a smoother PS5 experience, this update has something for everyone.
