After the successful completion of the JEE Mains on 3rd April 2016, CBSE had declared the results of the examination on 27th April 2016.
Candidates for admissions in different Undergraduate Engineering Programs in NIT’s, IIIT’s and similar Government run Technical Institutions are anxiously waiting for the JEE Main rank list 2016. Their long wait ended today.
The fate of more than 11 lakh JEE Mains aspirants will be decided today for admissions across different premium Technical institutions across the country.
Boys outshined girls by securing the top three ranks.
Rank 1: Dipanshu Jindal
Rank 2: Pratush Maini
Rank 3: Rajesh Bansal
Among these 11 Lakh candidates are almost 40,000 students who are studying in various coaching institutions in Kota.
The rank list will be based on the following criteria- 60% weight will be given for the test score and 40% weight for the Class 12th marks.
Kota has become a Mecca for aspirants who dream to be a part of these premium technical institutions. The JEE- Mains Ranks will be crucial for these students who study in these coaching centers in Kota. These students often study up to 18 hours daily away from their homes in hostels.
After a lot of criticisms about how these coaching centers prepared students for IIT but neglect essential topics studied in 12th standard, the Government changed the pattern of the examination and also gave weight to marks obtained in 12 standard Board Exams.
The JEE Rank List will also be crucial for students who have cleared the Advanced Exam but could not get into a real institution or able to get enrolled to a stream of their liking.
The Rank list which will be declared today will be followed by joint counseling for 34,781 seats for 629 courses conducted in 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 20 IIITs and 18 GFTIs from July 24, 2016. All the 11 lakh candidates will be eligible to participate in the joint counseling session.
