Joan Rivers rushed to hospital after outpatient surgery complications

Standup comic Joan Rivers was reportedly rushed to the Mt. Sinai Hospital after encountering some complications on an outpatient throat surgery procedure. As per reports from E! News, the 81-year-old Rivers had stopped breathing and was in critical condition.

TMZ first reported that a 911 call was made at around 9:30 a.m., reporting that a woman had suffered cardiac arrest or respiratory problems. From there, the person (Rivers) was brought to the hospital which later bared that she was not conscious but was in stable condition.

Daughter Melissa Rivers was en route to her mother’s side. Hospital spokesman Sid Dinsay officially confirmed that the woman brought in was Joan Rivers later on, withholding her identity due to privacy concerns. Rivers was being attended to and Dinsay did promise to provide an update as soon as it becomes available.
