Live Updates: Terror Attack Shakes France; More than 80 Killed

Another incident of terror has shaken France on July 14, 2016, as a truck plowed into a crowd in Nice, killing more than 80 civilians. More than 100 people have been injured seriously.

The truck driver drove his vehicle onto a large gathering who were watching the Bastille Day fireworks. French President Francoise Hollande called this carnage a terrorist attack from Islamic terrorists.

The President addressed the nation on Friday morning, and he told that the country would stay united. He added that the French people are always stronger than fanatics, and they will continue fighting against terrorists in a very strong manner.

He assured that more steps to combat fanatical religious terrorism would be adopted in Iraq and Syria to avoid future attacks like this.

The State of Emergency in the country has been extended to another three months.

Police officials killed the attacker, and they are now investigating whether there are any accomplices with him.

According to NBC News, the attacker is a French National of Tunisian descent. An eye witness told that a white truck literally raced through people of all ages.

Many individuals who were in the vicinity during this dreaded incident said that it was the scariest moment in their life.

Many world leaders which include, the United States President Barrack Obama and the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi condemned these attacks.

They called these events unacceptable and added that these incidents would enhance the strength of the global war on terrorism.

This is not the first time that France is becoming a victim of terrorism. Last November, an attack in Paris had killed more than 130 people.
