Xiaomi launches the 6-4 inch Mi Max smartphone in India

Xiaomi is all set to launch its largest smartphone today, Mi Max in India. The device supports a massive 6.4-inch display with a resolution of 1080*1920 (Full HD) and the screen has 342 pixels per inch (PPi).

Along with the Mi Max, Xiaomi is also going to unveil the global ROM of MiUi 8 through the event which is scheduled to start around 11:30 am in New Delhi.

Last week, the Chinese smartphone maker also launched Mi community in India. The members of the community will have the benefit of sharing their feedback, attending events and can even participate in contests.

In China, Mi Max was launched in May and the company is currently offering three variants of the device (In China)-
The 3GB RAM & 32GB storage version with a 1.8 GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor is available for INR 15000 (CNY 1499).

The 3GB RAM & 64GB storage version with a 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor is available for INR 17000 (CYN 1699)

Whereas, the 4GB RAM & 128GB storage model with the Snapdragon 652 is available for INR 20500 (CNY 1999).

But speculations are indicating towards the launch of only 1 variant for the Indian market.

The Mi Max is equipped with a 16-megapixel rear camera and offers phase detection auto-focus and an LED flash. The 5-megapixel front cam comes in with an 85-degree wide angle view. Both the cameras have an f/2.0 aperture.

The dual-sim device 4G LTE with VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/A-GPS with Glonass and Wi-fi 802.11ac with Mimo. The phone weighs 203 grams and is endowed with a massive battery of 4850 mAh.
Available in dark grey, gold and silver, the phone sports an IR blaster, gyroscope, accelerometer and a proximity sensor amongst other features.

As for the unveiling of the MiUi 8, Xiaomi claims that MiUi 8 China developer ROM contains over 1000 optimisations on top of new features. It is apparent that the Global MiUi 8 ROM will be a little different from the Chinese developer version.
