Xiaomi has today announced the launch of its new flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro. The two phones are the first to launch with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which is expected to be the most powerful mobile chipset on the market in 2024.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is built on a 4nm manufacturing process and features a new octa-core CPU with one 3.2GHz Cortex-X3 core, three 2.8GHz Cortex-A715 cores, and four 2.0GHz Cortex-A510 cores. The GPU is a new Adreno 740, which is said to be up to 30% faster than the previous generation Adreno 730.
In addition to the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro also feature a number of other high-end specs. Both phones have LTPO OLED displays with 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rates. The Xiaomi 14 has a 6.67-inch display, while the Xiaomi 14 Pro has a 6.78-inch display.
The Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro also have Leica-tuned triple rear camera systems. The main camera on both phones is a 50MP Sony IMX989 sensor, which is the same sensor used in the Xiaomi 13 Pro and the Google Pixel 7 Pro. The other two cameras on the Xiaomi 14 are a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 12MP telephoto camera. The other two cameras on the Xiaomi 14 Pro are a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 48MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom.
The Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro also have up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Both phones have 5000mAh batteries with support for 120W fast charging.
The Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro will launch in China on November 10, 2023. Pricing for the phones has not yet been announced.
